Dr. Kah-Wai Lin is a professional landscape photographer based in New Jersey. He is on the pro team of Red River Paper, official photographer of Phase One Camera, ambassador and education advisor of NiSi, ambassador and global marketing advisor of Fotopro, ambassador and global marketing advisor of Feiyu, and on the pro team of Spiffy Gear. He also operates a camera & telescope store, Stetinden Photo, in New Jersey. Over the past few years, he has been presenting over 300 seminars worldwide, and he has received over 200 awards in photographic contests. Notably, he is the recipient of a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.

Photographing Aurora Borealis

There is something so magical about seeing the aurora borealis dancing in the sky, and it is the dream of every photographer to capture it.
In this presentation, Dr. Kah-Wai Lin will discuss everything you need to know about photographing auroras. He will show you how to precisely forecast for auroras and how to set the camera, as well as discuss creative compositional skills for photographing auroras in the setting of winter landscape.
The Art of Creative Printing
The creative process of photography is a multistep process that involves the translation of your vision from real world to sensor, from sensor to monitor, and finally from monitor to paper. Printing is the (final) part of creative process—it is the cumulation of the photographer’s vision, style and personality.
In this presentation, Kah-Wai will discuss how to prepare image files for printing, color management, monitor calibration and paper selection, including a discussion on the visual impact of different papers. The aim of this presentation is to guide you to produce visually impressive prints.
