Nights of Wonder

World-renowned for his photographs taken at night, Paul Zizka has spent countless hours under star-filled skies, chasing the aurora borealis and visualizing and capturing images that stretch his own creative boundaries. From ice climbing under auroras to playing hockey games under the stars on mountain lakes to photographing nightscapes all over the world, his collection of images demonstrates not only a large degree of patience but also a unique combination of careful planning and spontaneity.

In this 1-hour presentation, Paul will dig into his personal toolkit to offer you ideas, resources, lighting techniques and inspiration that will bring your nighttime images to the next level and will help you break out of the box in your own quest for compelling nighttime images. Here's a chance to go beyond the Milky Way and re-conceptualize what it means to photograph at night.
